Continue to Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s most revered Buddhist shrine, and join the pilgrims circling Barkhor Street. Feel the devotion of Tibetan pilgrims and the vibrant pulse of local market life.

Immerse yourself in Tibetan intangible heritage. Visit a traditional workshop to make Tibetan incense by hand and paint your own Thangka under the guidance of local artisans. In the afternoon, watch the lively Buddhist debates at Sera Monastery — a centuries-old tradition where monks engage in animated philosophical discussion.

Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama and one of Tibet’s most important Gelug monasteries. Explore the grand halls and chapels filled with ancient murals and giant Buddha statues. In the afternoon, board the high-altitude train back to Lhasa for a comfortable and scenic ride across the Tibetan Plateau.
